My Story
...of answering a calling...
Hello! I am Tharini Devarajan, a self styled writing coach, specializing in the fluid narrative style of writing that is most called for in college application essays. Even though I was trained for the profession of being an Accountant with a CPA degree, writing has been the more natural ground, where I have honed my skills of crafting thoughtful, insightful memoir style pieces, through my personal blogging experience of 10 years and 600+ posts. This is where I discovered that personal writing comes naturally and has the potential to bridge distances and touch hearts, and moreover lead to immense self-discovery. Even as I continued to work as an Accountant in a local small business CPA firm, I was invited to become a part of the teaching staff at a premier Chicago-land writing enrichment center. Here, I devised curriculum from scratch in numerous creative genres of writing, such as:

Poetry, Monster Fiction, Fables, Fan Fiction, Descriptive Writing, Experiential Writing, Comic Strips, Recipe Writing, Travelogues, Traditional Letter Writing, Greeting Cards Writing and more
I also led small groups of students through the process, with live interactive weekly sessions. The 2 years I spent here, introduced me to the joy of working with students and young minds, and showed me, that the power to tell a story is there within each and every one of us.

As a mom to a rising senior, it was only natural that I applied this love of personal reflective writing and teaching experience, to better guide my son write his own story for the college application essays. What started as this tiny first step has now magnified into the bigger vision of helping all students who wish to tell their stories.
In a life altering turn, I quit my job as an Accountant in March 2019, and immersed myself wholly into research and discovery. This intensive focus, resource and knowledge base is what I now offer through CollaboWrite Now.
